final

soo here is a whole bunch of writing to sum up this college research class. this class has taught me alot including how to be an efficient internet user. this is going to be great to use in college and other classes. i have learned how to find the right keywords and narrow or broaden my search using boolean logic. this was an amazing class. this final was long and definitely pretty challenging but the topic never gets old and still keeps me interested.

i look forward to....

I look forward to learning many different keywords and strategies and looking forward to using these feats in college. So far this year, I've learned to do many things such as surfing the deeper web and using different search tools. My favorite thing I've learned thus far was how to create a word cloud.

today i have learned.....

in todays lesson i have learned the default boolean logic keywords that major search engines use to help make your internet search more efficient. it turned out that googles default keyword was AND which like many others were. the one search engine site i found to be different was the site called excite.com. their default was set to OR. this is helpful when trying to make sure you get the best results in your search.

i didnt know a question soo i came up with this

sooo for today we were in class and i came up with a problem. well a pretty big problem that also affected everyone in class. the question was how can we eliminate these boring repetitive questions from the beginning of the school year. the solution was for everyone in the class to come up with one question that we could use for the second term and get rid of the questions. if you look at my earlier blog i had stated a question i thought most essential to the class now as we have a more solid foundation in the college research class.

what to do and not to do in an interview

soo today we have learned about what to do and what not do during an interview. before starting your interview you should do some background research on the college, company, major or, anything that may pertain to the interview. this will help you prepare for the interview. Always dress accordingly (no jeans and t-shirts). this means business attire, a pair of khakis and button down for guys and maybe a skirt or slacks and nice sweater for women. first impression is everything and smiling upon the greeting of your interviewer is always a plus and makes for less tense environment. Go into the interview confident but remember not to confident because you dont want to look over-confident some people might be turned off by this. ask questions and dont talk yourself up and exxagerate your personality or anything about yourself and what you have done or achieved.

remember always write a thank you letter to the interviewer for taking up thier time and sharing their knowledge with you. keep this short and sweet and to the point. Sending this by mail is the best way but e-mail may be fine.

and that all you need to know about an interview and what to do and what not to do.

as for todays blog i have learned that out of all the different techniques for posting blogs there is a very popular one. the most popular blog entry type would be the wordles. i think this is so mainly because they are simple and easy to make. even though the xtranormal video blogs are much more cooler they are a LITTLE MORE TIME CONSUMING. i have also noticed a drop in people using the regular word blogs. they are to much work and way to boring.

new question- how have you developed as a technology/internet user since the begginning of the year?
